IANR Computer Labs and Classroom Guide


CIT Computing manages four student computer labs, a mobile computer lab, and one computer classroom on East Campus. The computer labs are staffed a majority of the time by consultants that should be able to help students with the common problems. Computers in the computer labs may be used by students on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications available on all computers include:

  • Office 2003 (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word),
  • Publisher 2003,
  • SAS for Windows,
  • WordPerfect,
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer, and
  • Mozilla Firefox.

Class-specific programs is available in selected classrooms/labs. Check with class instructor or Alfred Stark.

* Be sure to check for any posted changes in availability — any lab can be reserved for a class and available times change during holidays and summer.


Any of these resources may be reserved by IANR faculty or staff for class use or staff training needs. If you need to have special software installed on the computers, you must have the proper licensing and installation software to the lab manager at least one week prior to the needed date.

To view the availability of a lab or classroom, please go to the online Reserve scheduling system (user name = staff; password = seeit). You will find the mobile lab in the East Campus > Plant Science/ Keim Hall Complex section. To reserve a time, please contact the lab manager at astark1@unl.edu.

Other facilities

Computer lab in Burr Hall and Remote User Sites (for e-mail and Internet access only) in East Campus Union and East Campus Rec are managed by UNL Information Services (IS). Please see the IS Computer Labs page for more information.

Several Departments have computer labs that are available only to students in that department.
